Officially designated Incorporation Measuring Point
The VKTA operates a measuring designated by the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and Agriculture for the determination of internal exposures according to § 169 StrlSchG (Incorporation).
The Incorporation Measuring Point is available to both professionally radiation exposure persons and private individuals with their knowledge, experience and metrology. In addition to possibilities for direct measurement, the VKTA offers excretion analyses and evaluation of results. For incorporation measurements, a modern measuring station is available for measurements.
The Incorporation Measuring Point is accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (PL-14498-02-00).
Detailed task areas are:
- Elaboration of monitoring recommendations for the handling of open radioactive materials
- Implementation of incorporation measurements when handling open radioactive materials by means of direct measurements and excretion analysis
- Interpretations and dose estimations based on measurement results
- Reporting to the radiation protection officers and transmission of the data to the central radiation protection register of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS)
